If you see yourself working for a small, caring and successful agency where you can make a genuine creative impact, then we’d love to speak to you. We’re looking for a multi-talented, adaptable designer to become part of our a team and work with national and international clients across all aspects of brand and design.

Job Description

You will join our team of 8 (designers, developers and administration) and share responsibility for all aspects of designing for brands. The way we work means that you will be part of a team working on every aspect of output, whether it’s brand strategy, website design and UX, print, signage, packaging or anything else our clients might need.

Your Specialism and Prospects

As a small team the most important thing for us is to find a candidate who is a good fit. Because of this we will often shape our offer around a specific person’s skillsets. This means that, while we are looking for rounded designers, we also love people with a specialism. So if you have a particular area of interest, be it UI/UX, brand strategy, animation or creating design systems, let us know – we’d love to hear about it. As an agency we are looking for people who want to become part of our team on a long term basis, and we reward that by listening to and enacting your vision for our future wherever we can.

Requirements

We haven’t any of the weight terms – it’s pretty subjective as to what a mid-weight designer actually is. In our experience people either over or under-estimate their own ability. Instead we’ve gone by experience. In an ideal world you’ll have 3+ years experience with real client work, working on projects with multiple stakeholders and facets to the delivery. If you don’t meet these criteria scroll down.

Minimum requirements:
  • Passionate about design in all its forms – including digital. We can’t stress this enough.
  • At least 3 years experience working on multi-faceted design projects.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills, and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Ability to work both in brand and web design.
  • Excellent Creative Suite skills – and ideally working knowledge of Sketch.
  • Able to learn fast and adapt to challenges.
  • The ability to manage your own workload, prioritising and juggling various jobs at a time.
  • At the moment we are working remotely, but once it is deemed entirely safe to return to work we will require you to work from our Falmouth office for at least some of the week.
Bonus Points
  • An area of specialism.
  • A passion for, and understanding of UX and digital design.
  • A passion for, and understanding of brand strategy design.
  • Secondary skills – eg animation, photography, film, copywriting etc.

For those that don’t meet the criteria

While this role is for an experienced designer we are always keeping our options open. We’re particularly on the lookout for talented designers/illustrators/photographers/developers/administrators/account handlers/people with skills to add to our books for freelance work. We can’t promise anything, but send us your covering letter and portfolio, along with a CV if you have one and, if we like what we see, we’ll at least add you to our books. If we like you enough we might make a role or internship for you. Just make sure you let us know that you don’t have the required experience for the advertised job.
